Business mentoring for founders, leaders and growing teams
Sometimes what you need most isn’t another strategy document.
It’s space.
Space to step back.
Space to think clearly.
Space to talk through challenges, opportunities and decisions with someone outside the business.
That’s what mentoring gives you.
I work with founders, leaders and teams to help bring clarity to the things that matter most — from growth plans and positioning to leadership decisions and confidence in what comes next.
Part strategic support. Part sounding board. Part accountability partner.
Always practical, honest and grounded in real-world experience.
One-to-one business mentoring for founders, leaders and teams navigating growth, change and big decisions.
Kat Spybey, Founder at Spybey Digital_
“As the sole director of Spybey Digital, I can find it difficult to carve out the necessary time to focus on the business strategy and future growth, away from day-to-day client delivery. My monthly sessions with Laura hold me accountable, make me think about the bigger picture, and strategies and reconnect with the reasons why I started this business. With her own experience of running an agency, she’s been a brilliant sounding board to help me overcome pinch points and focus my decision-making. Most importantly, she’s supported me whilst injecting some fun back into running a business which can at times feel like a lonely and overwhelming task.”
Sometimes you don’t need more information — you need clearer thinking
Running a business or leading a team can feel full-on.
You’re making decisions every day. Managing people. Growing something. Solving problems.
And often doing it without enough time to properly think.
Does any of this sound familiar?
The challenges mentoring helps with
You’re carrying a lot of decisions on your own
You feel stuck on a business challenge
Your growth feels messy or overwhelming
You need clarity on positioning, pricing or business direction
You want support developing your team
You’re struggling to prioritise what matters most
You need accountability to follow through
Mentoring creates space to think more clearly and move forward with confidence.
Mentoring support for founders, leaders and teams who need space to think, plan and grow.
How mentoring works
Practical support shaped around what you need
No two mentoring relationships look the same.
Some people need strategic support. Some need accountability.
Some need confidence and perspective. Some simply need a regular space to stop and think.
Mentoring sessions are shaped around you and what’s happening in your business right now.
That might include:
Business growth planning
Positioning and messaging
Leadership decisions
Pricing and offers
Business development
Team support and development
Confidence and decision-making
Navigating change and growth
No fluff. No jargon.
Just practical conversations designed to help you move forward.
Flexible mentoring sessions designed around your business, leadership and growth challenges.
Sam Hockley, Video Director, Filmmaker and Editor
"Working with Laura was invaluable for me as a freelancer. She helped me pause, take stock of where my business was, and get clear on where I want to be in the years ahead. With her guidance, I was able to break things down into simple, actionable steps that made real progress feel achievable.
I felt at ease with Laura within minutes, and we were able to dive straight in. What stood out most was that she didn’t try to give me all the answers– instead, she listened and helped me uncover them for myself.
I’d recommend Laura without hesitation".

Helping organisations grow with more clarity, confidence and focus
Over the past 20 years, I’ve built and scaled a creative agency, worked in senior in-house roles and supported organisations as a consultant, strategist and mentor.
That means I understand the realities of growth, leadership and marketing from different sides of the table — and the pressures that come with trying to build something sustainable while making important decisions along the way.
Alongside my practical experience, I’m an ILM Level 5 Business Mentor and accredited with the Association of Business Mentors, where I continue to learn and develop through ongoing training and professional development.
I’m also proud to volunteer as a mentor with Enterprise Nation’s Help to Grow programme, UnLtd and Anglia Ruskin University’s Freelancing Fast Start programme — supporting founders and early-stage businesses as they build confidence, clarity and momentum.
People work with me because I bring:
20+ years of strategic marketing and business experience
Practical experience of building and growing a business
ILM Level 5 accredited mentoring expertise
Honest, practical advice
Strategic clarity grounded in action
Accountability and momentum
Collaborative support that helps people grow with confidence

“As someone with no marketing experience, I was unsure where to begin when redeveloping some of our web pages. Laura guided me every step of the way, helping me create a clear plan and structure to communicate our message effectively. She has been instrumental in the redesign of our Professional Services pages. Her expertise, support, and the insights I gained from our sessions were invaluable. I highly recommend Laura to anyone seeking marketing support – her knowledge and guidance are unmatched!”

How The Mentoring Process Works
Every mentoring relationship is different, so sessions are flexible and shaped around what you need most at that point in your business, leadership role or growth journey.
As a guide, here’s how the process typically works. Most clients find meeting every 3–4 weeks creates the right balance of space, momentum and accountability — and I’m always available between sessions if needed.
-
An informal conversation to explore what support you’re looking for and whether mentoring feels like the right fit.
-
A chance to reflect on where you are now, what’s feeling challenging and what you’d like to get from mentoring.
-
We’ll talk through your goals, priorities and where you need the most clarity or support right now.
-
Together we’ll define the focus of the mentoring, agree your goals, how sessions will work and what support will be most useful moving forward.
-
Regular space to reflect, challenge ideas, work through decisions and create momentum around what matters most.
-
Time to review progress, recognise what’s shifted and decide what support you need moving forward.
